For clarity, we refer to “Output” and “Input” termination in terms of where the cable is being connected. “Output termination” would be where the digital signal is coming from (e.g., transport, digital streamer, media server etc.) and “Input termination” would be where the digital signal is going to (e.g., DAC, AV Receiver etc.). For example, if you have a CD transport with an RCA output and a DAC with an BNC input select connectors accordingly (RCA for the output termination and BNC for the input termination).
